------------------------------------------------------
2inspire Academy School of Performing Arts was set up in
February 2015, as a project under the umbrella of the 2inspire Academy CIC, to
provide affordable opportunities for children to engage in performing arts
activities in their local community.
We decided to focus on introducing ballet lessons for two
reasons first, due to the numerous benefits associated with this dance form,
and also the lack of opportunities for children from different backgrounds who
wish to study ballet, particularly those that in live in deprived areas.
Our ballet classes
were first held at Halton Court in Kidbrooke Village in February 2015 and in
September 2015 we expanded to run further classes at Brookhill Children’s
Centre in Woolwich in partnership with Homestart UK. These classes were
specifically targeted towards families from low income backgrounds and
subsidised by 50% for those in receipt of benefits.
Our mission is to help a wider range of children and young
people to access the arts in their local community, by providing better facilities and touching
the lives of more deserving children from underprivileged backgrounds.
Our resident teacher, Nashira Santialia went on Maternity leave in May and her classes have been covered by Jo-Clare, Jo-Clare will continue to cover Nashira's classes commencing at Brookhill in September, she is a great addition to the team and will be working with the students on a winter performance, she will also be assisting in developing the examination programme and the start-up of classes at 2 other sites.

We would also like to use this opportunity to announce the good news and congratulate Nashira on the arrival of her beautiful baby girl, Nuiana.
Nashira has been with the Academy since we started in February 2015, she is dearly missed by the students and we are all eagerly anticipating her return next year. However we are all extremely happy for her and wish her and the new addition to her beautiful family a joyous time.
